Saraswatichandra is a show on Star Plus which is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This show is based on the popular Gujrati novel. This show is thought to be a Love Story. The story of Saraswatichandra revolves around a middle class and a high class Gujrati families. It will also depict the clash in ideologies of the extended family. Gautam Rode is playing the lead role of Saraswatichandra and Jennifer Winget will be essaying the role of Kumud. Saraswatichandra will also have Anirudh Singh, Monica Bedi, Shiney Doshi, Yatin Karyekar, Ragini Shah, Chetan Pandit etc in the primary cast.
The main lead Saraswatichandra (Gautam Rode) is the son of Saraswati who died early in her age and Saraswatichandra was raised by his stepmother (Monica Bedi). She creates obstacles in Saraswatichandra's way overtime.
In spite of being treated like an unwanted and badly by his stepmother, Saraswatichandra grows up to be a hunk, compassionate, precocious, intelligent and charming holistic man. However, when his father decides to get him married, he doesn't relent to the idea and revolts. Nonetheless, his father still goes ahead with his alliance to Kumud (Jennifer Winget) who hails from an affluent family but she is also maverick, very beautiful and compassionate lovely lady. When Saraswatichandra hears his forced marriage plans to a stranger of this, he sends a letter to Kumud explaining his predicament and calling off the engagement alliance. But Kumud replies to his letter with love and empathy. And in a series of mails to each other – the inevitable but beautiful thing happens – they fall in LOVE in the SLB way!
One day, Saraswatichandra takes off to meet the love of his life - Kumud. When his stepmother learns of his actions, she poisons her husband’s mind forcing him to call off the wedding without informing his son. Rest of the details later, as the show progresses.
